About us: why MyCanvasDesign exists
MyCanvasDesign is a free online design tool, made independently in the UK. This page is about us: why we built it, how it works and how to reach us.
Why we built it
Making a poster or an invite shouldn't start with a sign-up form, a free trial or a watermark you have to pay to remove. We built MyCanvasDesign so everyday design jobs, like a flyer for the school fair, a post for your shop or a slide for Monday's meeting, take minutes and cost nothing.
The design editor is free with no time limit. Pro, coming soon, will pay for the servers by adding things that cost us money to run, like keeping your designs in the cloud.
How it works: the edge and your own device
MyCanvasDesign is served from a global network, so the app loads from a data centre near you wherever you are. Once it's open, the heavy work happens on your own computer or tablet: drawing the canvas, processing your photos and making your PNG, JPG, SVG and PDF downloads.
That split keeps it fast. There's no upload queue and no busy server to wait for, and big designs (up to 50 pages, 200 images and 2,000 objects) stay responsive.
Your privacy
Designs you make without an account are stored in your browser, on your device, and your photos are processed there too. We don't show adverts and we don't use tracking cookies. The privacy policy has the details.
What's live and what's next
Live now: the design editor, with text in 24 fonts, photos, shapes, over 2,000 icons, charts, QR codes, drawing tools and designs of up to 50 pages.
Also live: a free flowchart maker with 61 shapes, swimlanes and connectors that stay attached.
Coming soon: an online PDF editor, a template library and Pro.
