Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026. Applies to MyCanvasDesign.com.
Who we are
MyCanvasDesign is run by MyCanvasDesign, based in the United Kingdom. "We", "us" and "our" in this policy mean MyCanvasDesign. You can reach us at support@mycanvasdesign.com.
What we collect and why
- Without an account: nothing that identifies you. Your designs are saved in your own browser and never leave your device unless you choose to share or save them.
- Your account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture. We use these to sign you in and to contact you about your account.
- The waitlist: if you ask to be told when Pro, the PDF editor, the flowchart maker or templates launch, we keep your email address, what you asked to hear about, the page you signed up on and when. See "The waitlist" below.
- Your designs and uploads: once Pro launches, designs you save to the cloud and images you upload will be stored so you can open them on any device. Only you can see them unless you create a share link or submit a template.
- PDFs: the PDF editor is coming soon and will work in your browser. Files will only be stored on our servers if you are on Pro and choose to save one to your account.
- Subscription status: if you subscribe to Pro, Polar tells us your plan and whether it is active. We never receive your card details.
- IP address: used briefly to stop abuse, such as limiting sign-in attempts. It is not stored alongside your account.
- Error reports: if something breaks in your browser, a short technical report (the error message and page address) is sent to us so we can fix it.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
The waitlist
When you join a waitlist we store your email address, which of Pro, the PDF editor, the flowchart maker and templates you asked about, the page you were on, the time you joined and the wording you agreed to. We use them for one thing: to email you when what you asked about launches. We do not send newsletters or anything else, and we never sell or share the list.
We keep your address until we have emailed you about everything you asked about, or for two years after you joined, whichever comes first, and then delete it. To be removed sooner, email support@mycanvasdesign.com from that address and we will delete it. Joining more than once just adds to the same entry.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
- Contract: to provide your account, cloud saves and Pro subscription.
- Consent: to email you about the launches you asked to hear about. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.
Who we share data with
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting, database and file storage, sending sign-in links and account emails, security and spam protection | USA / global (EU–US Data Privacy Framework) |
| Polar | Payments, tax and invoices as merchant of record | USA |
| "Continue with Google" sign-in, only if you use it | USA |
We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Account data and designs: until you delete them or your account.
- Share links (once they launch): until you revoke them or delete the design.
- Rate-limit counters: a few minutes to an hour.
- Payment records: kept by Polar as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account cancels any subscription, removes your designs and uploads, and deletes your customer record at Polar (Polar keeps past payment records as tax law requires). You also have the right to ask us to correct or restrict how we use your data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Email us and we will reply within 30 days.
Children
MyCanvasDesign accounts are not intended for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell account holders by email about significant changes.
