Free online PDF editor, coming soon
The MyCanvasDesign online PDF editor is coming soon: it will edit text, fill in forms, sign, redact and merge PDFs in your browser, with files kept on your device. Until then, you can bring a PDF into the design editor and write, draw or sign on top of its pages.
It is being built on the same idea as the rest of MyCanvasDesign: the heavy work happens on your own device, so contracts, payslips and ID documents never have to be uploaded to a stranger's server.
How to add text or a signature to a PDF today
Bring the PDF in
On the dashboard press Create new, then From a PDF. Files up to 15 MB work, and up to 50 pages come in.
Write on the pages
Each PDF page arrives as a picture. Type over it, draw a signature with the pen, or cover a line with a white box.
Download a new PDF
Export as PDF and every page comes out with your additions. The original text can't be changed this way; that is what the PDF editor is for.
What the online PDF editor will do
- Edit text
- Change words directly on the page, matching the original font as closely as possible.
- Fill in and sign
- Type into form fields and add a signature you draw, type or upload.
- Redaction that really removes text
- Redacted areas will be flattened, so the hidden text can't be copied or recovered.
- Annotate
- Highlight, underline, strike through, draw and leave sticky notes.
- Organise pages
- Reorder, rotate and delete pages, merge several PDFs or split one into parts.
- Compress and make scans searchable
- Shrink large files, and turn scanned pages into text you can search and select.
Private by design
Rental forms, permission slips, invoices, CVs and contracts: most PDFs only need a small change, and you shouldn't need a subscription to make it.
Because the PDF editor will work inside your browser, your documents won't leave your computer while you edit. That makes it a sensible choice for anything you'd rather not upload.
Need someone else to sign it?
MyCanvasDesign is for editing and filling in your own PDFs. When a document needs signatures from other people, Docket Secure, our other site, sends them a secure link and gives you back the signed copy.

Can I edit a PDF with MyCanvasDesign today?
You can add to one. In the design editor, choose From a PDF and each page comes in as a picture you can type, draw and place images on, then download as a new PDF. Changing the PDF’s own text needs the PDF editor.
Will my PDFs be uploaded anywhere?
No. Like the design editor, the PDF editor will open and change files inside your browser, on your own device.
Will the PDF editor be free?
Yes. The everyday edits will be free, with no watermark, like everything else in MyCanvasDesign.
Can I get a PDF signed by someone else?
Use Docket Secure (docketsecure.com), our other site. You add the signature fields to your PDF, send a secure link to the people who need to sign, and download the signed copy.
